I previously worked as a secretary in Dr. Kevin Jones’ office at the University of Florida's Deparment of Materials Science and Engineering, where I assisted both him and my supervisor Matthew Walters with a variety of tasks. While working for them, I operated the main line for the department, directing calls to other offices within the department and screening calls to the chair. I also sorted mail and kept track of packages. I took on the challenge of bringing the departmental newsletter internal – writing, editing, and designing the layout for the newsletter as my tenure with the department went on. I also created publications to highlight departmental excellence. Overall, I gained a lot of experience and knowledge during my tenure, and I'm confident I could share those skills with you.
